The Brazos Valley has a rich military culture. As the home of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets, it routinely produces more of the military’s future leaders than any other non-Academy institution. Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio (with Austin for good measure) form the angles of the Texas Triangle, and these cities are bulwarks of the military experience, with the Brazos Valley forming the center of this military and veteran hotspot.

Unfortunately, I learned the hard way, this area has very little practical experience actually dealing with the difficulties of the Military family. Most real estate firms will have a “military specialist” in their organization, but often times it is a person who has simply gone through an online course produced by their franchise with no actual military background.

As a US Army Veteran of over ten years, I truly understand the difficulties of the Military experience. How do you budget a home price with BAH? Do you save some money back for utilities? Do I have to sell my house in two years because I’ve come down on orders? What if I only have three days of Permissive TDY to actually house hunt and put in an offer? What if my spouse is house hunting without me? These are all questions my own family has faced, and ones I’m able to help my clients work through.

I look forward to the honor of serving my friends and family, military or civilian, through the exciting, scary, and ultimately rewarding experience of buying or selling their home. If you or your own friends are thinking of buying or selling a home anywhere in Texas, or anywhere in the world, really, please be sure to pass them my information! Even if they aren’t going to buy or sell in my area, I can arm them with the important questions they should ask, and even give them a reference to a knowledgeable REALTOR at their destination!
